Made in conjunction with Scissors and Glue, adam@eveDDB and Google. We were tasked with creating most of the lead character animations for Google’s latest Androidify campaign launch video.
The animation features celebs such as Tom Daley, Kylie, Concheta and Sam Smith. It was developed to highlight Google Androids new pride based character costumes. This also fed into the virtual pride parade for the online avatar Androidfy platform. A strict set of rules and guidelines were imposed. As a result we embraced the awkward and comic sense of movements from previous animations. And animated the can can, the running man and granny gymnastics in a simple, funny and ‘Androidified’ way.
The ad is part of Google’s wider Pride celebrations. With the company featuring a float in parades in San Francisco, New York and London. As a result viewers were encouraged to “Androidify” themselves, with the best characters featured on large screen displays during the parades.
